What is Nutritional Therapy?

Poor health comes from dysfunction or imbalances in the body. Through various forms of testing I work with you to identify where there are imbalances in your body chemistry. We then use bioindivdiually designed diet, lifestyle changes and targeted nutrients to therapeutically restore balance to the body. Nutritional therapists do not diagnose or treat disease, but work to correct imbalances with the goal of gently guiding individuals back on the path to health.

WHY do i need lab testing?

Lab testing is the most critical part of my service. Many natural health practitioners choose not to order or analyze lab tests, and they are only able to guess based on outward signs and symptoms. Lab testing provides conclusive evidence about the exact systems in your body that are out of balance, and re-testing provides proof that we're on the right track. Although there is an initial expense upfront, this testing could ultimately save you thousands of dollars, not to mention time and frustration, that would otherwise be spent on improper protocols.

I can't afford Nutritional Therapy

I understand better than anyone that a Nutritional Therapy bill can seem like a large, if not impossible expense. When I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cervical cancer I had to make the difficult decision to decline traditional treatment that would have been covered by insurance and pay out of my own pocket for something I knew was better. I couldn't afford it, but my naturopath asked me, "can you afford not to do it?" This is your life. Coming from someone who was very sick, you cannot put a budget on good health. According to CNBC, medical bills are now the number one cause of financial ruin in the United StatesI can confidently promise you that paying a little more now could save you thousands of dollars in future medical bills, co-pays and monthly prescriptions, not to mention the emotional and mental pain that comes from being unwell.

How long will my Nutritional Therapy take?

Every body is different so the length of time we work together will be based totally on your body and your commitment to changing your health. Many clients choose to return annually for a checkup, but even after we stop working together Nutritional Therapy never ends. My goal is to give you tools that will change your life forever. After working with me you will know how to eat and live so that you can regain and maintain vibrant health for the rest of your life.

Do I really need SUPPLEMENTS?

In an ideal world we would be able to get all the nutrients we need from food - but our world is far from ideal. Our soils are damaged and depleted and most modern produce contains far fewer vitamins and minerals than food even 50 years ago. Additionally, if your body is out of balance and lacking in certain nutrients, those available in food - even organic, locally grown food - are not going to be enough to restore balance. You need some "supplemental" help. The goal is not to take supplements forever but only short-term to speed your recovery process.

Will I be healed?

I cannot guarantee any outcome, but what I can guarantee is to get your body in the best possible position so that it can heal itself. If you are committed to regaining your health I believe you can, because I did it myself.

Eating healthy is expensive

I do not believe you can put a budget on good health, but you can put a budget on other things, like eating a restaurants that charge three times the price of food, or paying a premium for boxed and packaged processed foods. The average American spends at least $15 - $45 dollars per month on prescription medications, not to mention doctor visit co-pays, that could be be added to a real food budget. What many people don't realize is how easy, simple, and cost-effective it can be to eat healthy. After working with me you will know how to eat a healthy, properly prepared, nutrient-dense diet everyday, while spending the same if not less than you did before!

do i have to eat organic?

It may not be necessary to always eat organic 100% of the time, but prioritizing food quality is important because conventional foods are full of chemical pesticides, antibiotics, and hormones that alter our body chemistry. Additionally, scientific research has shown that organic produce and properly-raised animal products contain far more nutrients than their conventional counterparts. This is one of the main factors that has contributed to our obesity epidemic - people are eating lots of food, but they're not getting any nutrients, so the body keeps asking for more. It's a vicious cycle that can be stopped by focusing on eating the most nutrient-dense foods you can find.
